Teacher awarded £55,000 after slipping on chip

A teacher was awarded £55,000 after slipping on a chip outside the school canteen

She sustained strained knee ligaments and was on crutches for 5 months and had intensive physiotherapy.

The judge awarding the compensation said the Council should have realised the ramp was a risk as there was no non-slip flooring installed.

European Campaign for Safety and Health at Work

A 2 year campaign, focusing on the importance and need for Risk Assessments to be carried out in the workplace, and to raise awareness of risks for all workers. European Safety Week starts on 20th - 24th October.
